Soul to SavePeople have greedy hands,
tearing at tender hearts.
Seeking a piece of soul,
wanting to belong in part.

In the end of innermost desire,
the yearning to contain --
something so pure yet fragile,
only to mistake and make pain.

Those of good and even evil
have dared to tread this road,
only to learn the reason why
people have this endeavor forbode.

Run far and fast my child,
depart from this affair.
Guard your hapless heart,
save your soul to someday share.

I'd rather be aloneI enter the room all eyes on me.

Side way glances as if I don't see.

I walk down the aisle and I take my seat.

This is where I'm gonna be for five days this week.

I can feel their hate from across the hall.

Those people they hate me and wish I would fall.

Unwanted is what they have always shown.

And honestly, I would rather be alone.

They tease me with their words as if it don't hurt.

They treat me as if I'm disgusting and dirt.

And sometimes I would just let it slide.

I would try to contain the feelings I hide.

I try to do my best but I really just fail.

And spectators would make up a new winding tale,

Of how my bad attitude is

Hope and broken dreamsLove it always beckons
Forever out of reach
Like the warm blue ocean
That laps the golden beach
There my soul it wanders
This shore of broken dreams
Living in the shadows
Of 'ifs' and 'might have been's'
Foolish heart stop wishing
Release me from this thirst
Of all the hurts and pains
Loneliness is the worst
To hear your voice I hunger
To see your face I yearn
Pain beyond enduring
My heart will you not learn?
How can I stop dreaming
Or learn to act my age
When this poetic spirit
Pours my heart upon the page
Grey gives way to sunshine
Hope lifts its dying head
I find a grain of comfort
In something that you've said
Sitting on the golden sand
I look out to the sea
rolling blue enchantment
Bids me "dream of what might be"

The Black RobePain is sufferable,
so long as it is invisible
Night is my shroud
Fate pulls me back to black and grey
My true colors disappear in the dark
Until the end of me I know
this hole will envelop me
My shadow will become many
and I'll disappear into the deep

FriendlessThere's a little boy who walks to school,
Nobody knows his name.
No matter what he tries to do,
It is always the same.

He keeps up with all the trends,
He knows them inside out.
Each one he pulls off perfectly,
Even that selfie-photo pout.

Each week he brings a box of muffins,
Though nobody knows why.
He used to try and hand them out,
Now he doesn't even try.

He shares the muffins with the crows
and eats them one by one.
For consuming that much sugar,
He sure looks miserable when he's done.

He looks down at the empty box
and you see a little smile.
The crows fly off and he lies down;
They'll all be full for quite a while.

In the MiddleYou are a person that sees too much.
You look at people and you don't see just them.
You see their doubts, their desires, and
wonder how people can be made up
of so much and that it all fits in such a tiny package.

And with these eyes that see too much,
your mouth is shut so you can listen while you watch.
You have words to say but sometimes they don't
come forward, so you listen to peoples' plights
and keep composed because it is your duty as
a modern man to keep it together, but I think
I like you best when I see you smile,
or when you laugh. It's catching.

I don't know your history, mainly because
we draw borders in our famil

Veterans are in my Heart and SoulVeterans – they are in my heart and soul
Whether they listen to rap or rock and roll
Veterans, they are all the same at heart
Even my mama and daddy played their part

Strong at heart, bold in nature, but still kind
Fighting until their last words are signed
Losing their limbs, their friends, their life
All to bring an end to this horrible strife

These Veterans I do so love for what they do
For freedom, there is nothing they won't go through
They will fight until they are finally called home
Be that home with their family or the twilight zone

And so I get rather riled up when they aren't respected
Do you know how much we'd be affe

I Am WishingI am wishing I wasn't alone,
That my brain would shut off,
That people would listen
When I whisper the undeniable truth.
But if no one listens
Then who the hell cares?

I am wishing that you were here
To smother my nightmares
And make me feel like I am safe.
If they can't see what I see
When I close my eyes
Then is it really there?

I am wishing that you still loved me,
That you would feel more for me
Than you do for her,
But I will never be good enough.
If you hold me and say everything is fine
Will it be a lie?

And I just wish you would say something
Because the silence screams
More truth than I can take.
And I just

My ''Friend''Can't wait to take my place,
Can't wait for me to be erased,
Can't wait for when I fall,
You're going to steal it all.

Call me a friend,
But you're really a foe.
I smile and say yes,
But inside I scream no.

Call my name,
I won't answer.
I've lost myself,
To the greed and the cancer.

It contaminated my cells,
Poisoned my body.
My guard was down,
My protection shoddy.

Break me down,
But already you have.
Inside and out,
I've been given a bath.

A bath in acid,
With some drops of your blood,
I sit in the filth,
The dirtiest mud.

I have no choice;
I'm so confused.
One question to answer:
Have I been used?

Through the looking glassIs this all real?
What is this sensation we feel?
Are we just reliving the life we once lived?
Did we die already and just get revived?

Who once decided what's left and right?
Who sees everything in black or white?
Is this whole world just a dream?
Is this all part of some scheme?

The answers to the questions were not written in ink
It always changes no matter how much you think
Because you're neither right nor wrong
People have been searching for answers for so long

Laws and rules,
Are just some of our tools
Tools to make this world seem more vast
If they are not believed in then they are just the past

Do we have some weird ideal?
Are we

Mask It With a SmileGrin.
No, not that big.
Show a few teeth...
There, that's more like it.
Go wash your face,
That's better.
Your cheeks are less flushed,
So rejoin your friends.
Someone just told a joke,
Laugh along.
Let the sparkle reach your eyes,
Now no one'll notice they're red and puffy.
"Hey, how are you?"
Tell them you're good
and re-direct the question to them.
You're too quiet,
and your mind is wandering...
Join the conversation.

How Dare You Pity Me

You pity me!!
How dare you
Believe in the slightest way
I am lower than you.
I see the shifty looks
That transverse as I pass
The whispered words
The rumors as they start to amass
You think me too stupid
To notice the obvious
Or has my poverty
Made me oblivious
To simple truth
At me you continually attack.
You think I don't see
When your masks begin to crack.
How this faithfulness
You continue to spew
Falls away like magic
The moment I leave you.
Has your pity made happy,
Do feel you've changed
The life of those less fortunate
Through the lies you've arranged.
Do you think pretty words
Will save what's left of my lif

Obsession"I need rest," she murmurs under the copper dyed hues of sunset's leaves.
"Why don't you lie down for a while?" He looks down upon her, intentions of night in his dark eyes.
"I need rest," she whispers as the colour begins to steadily fade.
"Then nod your head, there's naught to fear," he smiles, stardust coating his cold breath.
"I need rest," she sighs as the last of sun's warmth departs her core.
"Take a seat, my love," he encircles as a panther would its prey.
"I need rest," a cry as soft as a dove flees her lips.
"Lift your feet, one shan't stand for too long," he becomes a shadow looming.
"I need rest," her eyes of summer look u

would I do?

To get rid,
of this,
pain,
hate,
anger.

Drinking?
Smoking?
Weed?
Ice?
The monster?
I already,
C.U.T.

in my skin,
prefect little lines,
the only thing PERFECT,
about me.

ChurchesChurches

In the still morning air,
churches rise, stone buttresses,
the bones of saints.
You finger each of my words,
the click of rosary beads.
Outside our window,
wagons clack, sheets flap,
squares of white, windows to something purer.
We sleep curved around each other,
the cool taste of spoons.
Only there is no longer anything
for us to eat. I slip away from your arms.
You want....
But I can only give you this, a light so clear
we don't have to be who we are.

How is it I smile when I am sad?
From what resource do I derive the strength?
If I should fall,
And not rise again,
What will become of me?
Is that all my life would entail?
Would there be no future,
For this poor soul?
My only freedom,
As little as it seems,
Is to watch out my window.
If not to watch others,
Then to gaze lovingly at the moon above.
For one day,
If I should see,
A Blackbird flying,
And my heart begins to race,
I'll run outside,
After it. On a high-speed chase.

The world will fall,
And I will not care.
I have no desire,
To carry on with whatever,
I have in this life,
And in any other life.

Hold On

I heard you crying last night
Did you stop trying last night?
You scream there is nothing left
You say there is nothing inside

You used to fly up so high
But you fell to pieces in the sky
You let go of your faith
And threw away your dreams
Try and find something left for us

I'll turn the lights out
Sleep for tonight
I have to leave,
So goodbye
You have to face this alone
You need to build your strength
You lost faith in me
And gave up
You know there is nothing
Left of us

You say it's too late
And nothing hurts
The feelings will come
And some will burn
But some will heal
If you keep strong
You won't hurt anymore

You can lay in the grass
And feel the sun
If you'll just wait for one
Keep shining darling
It's never too late
To turn your life around
Even if only for a day
You can reinvent yourself
And become someone new
Live a different life
And dry off your eyes

Just keep smiling,
I promise you it's not all gone
There is light at the end
All you have to do is hold on
